The below information is for the benefit of KP Law clients in the Rugby Head Injury Claim. This page gives the answers to some of the questions you may have. For anything not covered below, please get in touch with your dedicated team on kplrugbyclaims@kpl.co.uk.
KP Law is a leading law firm, specialising in complex, multi-claimant legal proceedings. Our team is made up of some of the most experienced and accomplished individuals in the industry and our work routinely requires the management of large claimant cohorts, substantial volumes of documents and data.
With a history of successful litigation against well-resourced institutional defendants, we are well placed in terms of resource and expertise to progress your claim.
KP Law was appointed as the new solicitors to conduct this litigation, replacing Rylands Garth, on 10th August 2026. This appointment was made by the client committee which represents all claimants in this litigation, following independent advice from Milberg London LLP.
This means that KP Law is now acting on your behalf in your claim and has taken over from Rylands Garth. We act for you under a new Conditional Fee Agreement which the committee entered into on your behalf. You will need to sign a copy of this agreement sent to you by email.
The committee is a smaller group of claimants who make decisions and instruct KP Law on behalf of all claimants in your claim. This is common practice in group litigation where it would be impractical and negatively impact the progression of legal proceedings for every claimant to be consulted on all decisions. You provided your consent to having a client committee represent you when you signed the agreement to join this claim with Rylands Garth (the Litigation Management Agreement).
Going forward, KP Law will work with the client committee on the day-to-day progression of the litigation.
There will be times when we need further information or documents from you, or where a decision must be taken by you personally. When this happens, KP Law will be in touch with you directly to explain what you need to do. We will also send you regular progress updates on the legal proceedings so you know what is happening in your claim. and will contact you directly when we need information, documents or further action from you.
Ben Croft, Partner at KP Law, is leading this claim at KP Law and has overall responsibility for key decisions in the litigation. Day to day, your claim will be handled by members of the wider KP Law team with the appropriate experience and expertise. We may also engage other firms of solicitors, such as Leigh Day, to consult on the Litigation, but KP Law will at all times remain the solicitors formally acting for you and will have overall responsibility for the conduct of your claim.
A Conditional Fee Agreement is a type of ‘no win, no fee’ agreement, it is a legal contract between a client and a law firm where the law firm’s fees are only paid where the case achieves a successful outcome.
It is really important that you don’t discuss your claim with anyone outside your legal team without speaking to us first. If you are approached by the media, the defendants (including their lawyers or their insurers) please tell us immediately – this includes if you are approached regarding settling your claim. Please also avoid posting about your claim on social media.
